A former high school softball coach has been indicted on eight charges alleging inappropriate contact with students under the age of 18.

The indictment filed February 11 in Lauderdale County Circuit Court charges former Clarkdale High School coach Ricky Roberson with three counts of exploiting a child and five touching a child lustfully.

The charges stem from eight separate incidents that allegedly occurred from June 2003 into June 2012.

Lauderdale County Schools Superintendent Randy Hodges fired Roberson shortly after his arrest Sept. 27, 2012 on one count of statutory rape and two of lustfully touching a minor. He is free on $30,000 bond.
