Meridian, Miss. The Meridian Exchange Club has rededicated the Freedom Shrine at Union Station.
Copies of original historical documents, like the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, make up the display.
The Exchange Club has placed these permanent reminders of our country's founding principles in schools, libraries, airports and other public places nationwide.
This particular display was moved to Union Station after Village Fair Mall closed years ago.
"We would like to emphasize this to the schools," said Exchange Club president-elect George Hill. "In fact, the National Exchange Club has a program that they give a test, let students study the documents and then give a test so that they'll have more of an understanding of all the documents."
Hill also encourages adults to come by and read the documents relating to our nation's founding and history.
