Morgan Freeman, will receive a star on the Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Center's
Walk of Fame in Meridian Thursday.

The popular actor grew up in Charleston,
Miss.

Freeman has been nominated for Academy
Award for performances in Street Smart,
Driving Miss Daisy, The Shawshank
Redemption and Invictus. He won the Best
Actor Oscar in 2005 for Million Dollar Baby. Freeman has also won a Golden Globe Award
and a Screen Actors Guild Award.

The public is encouraged to attend the
ceremony at 5 p.m. outside the MSU Riley
Center in downtown Meridian.
