Friends of Beth Morris gathered along Lake Tom Bailey on Tuesday night, holding candles, to remember the friend they describe as the heart and soul of the Toomsuba community. Morris had been reported missing and was found dead on Tuesday morning. Her boyfriend Harry Wayne Walden has been charged with manslaughter.
"She touched so many lives with so much kindness and good-heartedness," close friend Joann Brasatr says.
Morris' friends tell Newscenter 11 that while they are still processing her death, they say they are glad they now have closure and can begin to heal.
"Just tears me up knowing that he put her out there for so long," Brasatr says. "I mean, you don't do that to somebody you love."
Those attending Tuesday night's vigil made it clear they plan to see to it that Morris gets the justice she deserves.
