Leaders from several Meridian area churches met at St. Paul Episcopal Church for breakfast Tuesday morning to discuss their involvement with Lauderdale County Habitat for Humanity.
Habitat board president, Derek Glicco, says that churches provide the bulk of volunteers, as well as looking for potential homeowners the organization can help.
Glicco also adds that everyone Habitat and the churches help also put in a lot of work.
"A lot of people think it's just charity," said Glicco. "And in reality, people are buying these houses, and they're working for them, and helping build them themselves. So we're just helping people and not just giving them everything."
