Meridian, Miss. Officers from three different agencies responded to a reported late night hit and run.
Authorities told Newscenter 11 they are still sorting out details, but an incident that started in Daleville late Wednesday night apparently sparked a high speed chase down Highway 39. The chase ended in the parking lot at the Cefco on North Hills Street in Meridian about 11:30.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol, Meridian Police Department, and Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department all responded to the call. Officers say both parties accuse the other of hit and run. A clerk told Newscenter 11 he arrived to work as everything was unfolding.
"A chase, yes, yes," Danny Ball recalls. "She was talking about that. She, they was being chased and whatever. The police was chasing them. They was hitting signs and everything trying to get here. But it was just, it was crazy. "
Officers on the scene said no one was injured during the chase and that an investigator was being called in to determine the events that led up to the chase.
