The Mississippi Supreme Court has agreed to hear an appeal from a Holmes County man convicted of capital murder in a fatal shooting in Jackson.
Christopher Harrell was sentenced to life in prison without parole in 2010 in Hinds County.
Harrell was convicted in the 2008 fatal shooting of Frank Damico in Jackson. Authorities say Harrell dumped Damico's body in rural Holmes County.
Prosecutors say Damico's body was found nine days after he was reported missing from Jackson. A Holmes County public works employee found Damico's decomposed body near a creek on April 15, 2008.
Prosecutors say Harrell killed Damico to take his car because he was wanted for other crimes.
The state Court of Appeals rejected Harrell's challenge to jury instructions last year.
