Meridian, Miss. The International Singing Brakeman Association is celebrating the life of Jimmie Rodgers this week. In its 25th year, TISBA has set aside this week to honor Rodgers through fellowship and music. Glyn Jones, President of TISBA says, not only does Rodgers' music extend across the globe, but he accomplished a feat no other musician can claim.

"Well he is considered to be the father of country music," said Jones. " He was the first person to ever sell a million records. Of course there area lot more people buying records now, than there were back then, so a million records in 1930 was a huge accomplishment.

The tribute will continue through Saturday May 31st, at the Best Western. There will be musical performances each night.
