Two juveniles are in police custody after leading authorities on a chase overnight, stemming from several car burglaries.
The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department says the incidents took place along Briarwood Road around 3 a.m. on Wednesday. Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun says a Meridian police officer actually spotted the suspects vehicle at the intersection of Briarwood Road and Van Zyverdan Road, which is where the chase began and later ended on Highway 39 in Kemper County. This happened after Calhoun says several vehicles were broken into on Makenzie Lane and on Northeast Pines Drive.
