Kemper County Authorities Issue Warning

Kemper County officials are warning residents in the area to keep a record of their valuables, following a recent house burglary.

This comes after authorities there say Jodie Ferguson of Philadelphia is being charged with stealing almost $30,000 worth of items from a house where she worked.

"It's very important to keep any paperwork on anything of value," Sheriff James Moore says. "It's amazing sometimes that when people buy big screen tv's, computers and they don't put these serial numbers in a safe place because that's very, very vital in recovering your property."

In Ferguson's case, Sheriff moore says quick response from law enforcement led to the 18-year-old's arrest. He says all the stolen items have been recovered. Bond for Ferguson was set at $5,000.

That was an idiotic statement. In the 60's Philly didn't have a black sheriff. I don't look for the Philly chief in meridian but possibly. The 60's was a time of so called racism. If this happens it's nothing more than politics. Yes it happened in the 60's but it has never stopped. Racism is kept alive by Obama, al sharpston and so on. America has gotten away from God and I don't for see it going back. All we can do is worry about ourselves and our relationship with God.
