Lauderdale County Emergency Management Agency director, David Sharp, addressed the Downtown Optimist Club Tuesday. He shared what the agency does.
On the eve of the 9/11 anniversary, members wanted to know about emergency management and how it responds to various needs.
Sharp also talked about how LEMA relies on volunteers to help for some emergencies, such as searches for missing people. He says LEMA is looking for a new kind of volunteer.
"We are looking for volunteers that are real good with computers and know how to set up and manage the social media pages," said Sharp.
Anyone interested in volunteering may contact the LEMA office at 601-482-9852.
