The new school year is just around the corner for Lauderdale County students and others. But the work has already started for administrators.
In fact, a principals retreat was held Friday for Lauderdale County principals.
Superintendent Randy Hodges says the session was important to make sure the leaders of each school understand district policies and what is required of them for 2013-2014.
"There are many details or requirements that we may have that may be in federal programs," said Hodges. "It may be in our food and nutrition programs, may be curriculum. But we just want to make sure that we have a good understanding of all of the above."
Hodges said he also wants the staff to start the year with a positive frame of mind.
Lauderdale County teachers get back to work Aug. 1. Students return to class Aug. 6.
