Right now, people need to be aware and take the necessary steps to be ready for Isaac.
At this time, the location of landfall is not definite. But it is down to days and people are making the necessary preparations by stocking up on can goods, water, bread, and medications, if the storm should make its way into our area. Local grocery stores are stocking their shelves in case of imminent weather conditions.
"Already got water and lights, flashlights, and I have got a shelter and ive got to use it, and ive got plenty of food prepared," Stonewall resident George Collins says. "You see, I'm trying to get some more now. It's better to be prepared, you may not have no electricity and no water, you better have plenty of water, generator if youve got one."
"The things we've learned in the past is water, batteries, some canned meat items, you know items that the customer or the families can take out of the can prepare real quick without electricity if it comes to that, or items they may cook on gas grills," Piggly Wiggly owner Joe Williams says.
Experts say it is also important to have all of the medications you will need to last through the storm.
