Luckett Tours CMRC in Newton

Central Mississippi Residential Center helps patients with various mental health issues become independent and productive citizens in society.

Bill Luckett, of Clarksdale, a candidate for governor, toured the facility as part of a campaign swing that include the Neshoba County Fair.

Luckett said he was impressed by the facility and the assistance they give those in need.

"I'd like to see this type of arrangement and program expanded to meet all the needs of all the people who need this type of treatment," said Luckett. "This community-based type treatment where there is a program set up to return people to their communities."

Luckett is running in the Democratic Primary against Hattiesburg Mayor Johnny DuPree, Meridian teacher William Compton, and retired Yalobusha County tax assessor Guy Shaw.
