Meridian Community College hosted its annual Nursing/Health Education Job Fair Thursday.
Students who are enrolled in these programs had the chance to meet potential employers and see what the job market has to offer.
Health-related jobs are in high demand. The fair drew participation from businesses in Jackson, Tuscaloosa, and the Memphis area, as well as Meridian.
"Health care reform, as it's continuing to evolve, these are opportunities our students need to understand and know about so that they know where the jobs are and how to really market themselves in terms of the health care skills that they'll have once they graduate from Meridian Community College," said Holly Crane, instructor in the associate degree nursing program.
In addition to jobs, some hospitals shared educational opportunities available to those reaching beyond a 2-year degree.
