Meridian Little Theatre's youth workshop is taking place all this week.
Sixty-three students in first through 6th grades are learning the nuances of theatre. The workshop is an annual offering at MLT.
Workshop director Sidney Covington says kids learn what it takes to produce a show, both on-stage and backstage, plus, it's lots of fun.
"These kids can take these particular things that we're teaching them and even use them in regular life," Covington said. "They're just art skills, as well as social skills, things that they can do, that they can apply in their future."
The children will present their own production for the public Friday at 6 p.m. at Meridian Little Theatre. There is no charge to attend.
