The Meridian Symphony Orchestra has accepted the resignation of its conductor, Dr. Claire Fox Hillard.
Hillard was arrested Aug. 10 in Camilla, Ga., wearing only a towel in public, and was charged with loitering.
Symphony officials announced the resignation of Hillard late Friday afternoon.
Hillard had served as MSO's conductor since 1991. He's also conductor for the Albany (Ga.) Symphony.
