Mississippi State University-Meridian Campus will celebrate its 40th year next week.

At the time it opened in 1972, MSU Meridian occupied what is now MCC's Hardin Hall.

MSU Meridian has expanded since then to its own property across College Drive and has a downtown campus as well.

MSU Meridian plans to add a new library to the College Park campus soon.

A public celebration of the 40th anniversary will be held Aug. 17 at the College Park campus, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
