Meridian Main Street is hosting its first-ever entrepreneur conference next Tuesday at Union Station from noon until 1:30 p.m.
There will be a panel of local experts on business start-ups, including representatives from Meridian Community College, the Small Business Development Center, Mississippi Power, and others.
Meridian Main Street executive director, Karen Rooney, says the purpose of this conference is to get entrepreneurs familiar with some free, local services to help them start their business.
"I thought, well, you know what, we really need to put them together, have them all in one place, make a roundtable, where would-be entrepreneurs could come and get introduced to all these services, learn what is available," said Rooney. "And then they can make appointments with these people afterwards to delve into it further."
The conference is free of charge. Rooney asks that people planning to attend RSVP to karen@meridianmain street.com.
