A Marion General Hospital emergency room physician is facing an aggravated assault charge after authorities say he attacked a nurse with a knife in the emergency room.
Authorities told WDAM-TV that Dr. Harry Hunt tried to assault a nurse in the hospital Saturday about 6 p.m. He apparently injured himself instead.
Investigators said Hunt ran into the woods behind the hospital. He was captured six hours later about five miles away.
Authorities didn't have a motive for the attack, but said the doctor and nurse may have been in a dating relationship.
Hospital administrators said Hunt worked at the hospital part-time and had been employed there for about 12 years.
A hearing was scheduled for Monday. It wasn't immediately clear if Hunt had a lawyer.
