Authorities are questioning a man suspected of posing as an officer to stop motorists in Humphreys
County, but police say they don't know whether he's connected to two fatal highway shootings more than 100 miles north that could be linked to a police impostor.
North Mississippi authorities warned residents that someone could be posing as an officer after a man was killed May 8 in Panola County and a woman was killed May 11 in Tunica County.
WLBT-TV and WJTV-TV report a man was detained Thursday after allegedly trying to pull over motorists Wednesday night in Humphreys County.
Mississippi Department of Public Safety spokesman Warren Strain says it's too early to speculate on a link to the highway killings.
Humphreys County investigators didn't immediately respond Thursday to requests for information.
