Mississippi Republicans Declare Victory

The Mississippi Republican Party says it will have majorities in both the House and Senate, as well as the Public Service Commission and Transportation Commission, in 2012.

In a written statement, Arnie Hederman, party chairman, said, “Republicans made history in Mississippi yesterday, electing majorities in the House and Senate for the first time in 140 years. While some races have yet to be called and our majority could still grow by a few seats, the outstanding ballots cannot change the fact that Republicans will hold a majority of seats in the House and will have expanded its majority in the Senate.”

The GOP says, in the House, Republicans Gene Alday, Randy Boyd, Chris Brown, Tommy Taylor, Carolyn Crawford, Doug McLeod, Timmy Ladner, Tracy Arnold, Nolan Mettetal, Steve Massengill, and Dennis DeBar have all received enough votes to ensure that outstanding ballots will not alter their victories.

It also said Republicans Charles Busby also led his race for the Mississippi House, with only affidavit ballots yet to be counted.

The party said, in the Senate, Republicans Phillip Gandy, Melanie Sojourner, Phillip Moran, and Rita Parks have all received enough votes to secure their victories.

Mississippi has not had a Republican majority in the House since Reconstruction.

Notwithstanding, I agree. It doesn't take a village to raise a child, it takes a family. God, family & country, in that order, will be the only way to put MS on top, the US back in in working order. We all see what the Dimocraps are capable of when running the country & state. Personal responsibility begins in the heart. Politics aside, they need to work together. It's hard to put a cracked Humpty Dumpty back together again. The question is, is Humpty just cracked or completely broken?

Whoever is on the lords side stand up!

All the Republicans care about is "winning elections"? Really? That's funny. The Democrats are the ones trying to get illegal aliens voting rights so they can vote for who? "Democrats". The Dem controlled House tried to pass Legislation allowing some felons to vote, so they could vote for? "Democrats". And Democrats give, give, give, to all the "needy" people so they will vote for ------ wait for it -------- yes - Democrats. Before being so critical, why not at least wait to see what happens the next 4 years. Possibly, oh, maybe keep an open mind about it? First time Republicans have been in control in 140 years, let's just see what happens.

Its a shame that all the GOP cares about is winning elections. Perhaps they accomplish more if the put away their bibles got up off their knees and took a little personable resposablity for their own actions and the actions of the huge corporations they ally themselves with.

Maybe with Republicans in control we can return to improved schools, better education, health care, etc. With Dimocraps in control, there was no accountability whatsoever. Dimocraps held MS in the backwoods of the the whole country. It seems as if all the Dimocraps want to do is win elections so they can be in control. They have brought the country to ruin. Maybe if the Dimocraps got out their Bibles & dusted them off & got down on knees they could take more personal responsibility for THEIR actions & stop generational welfare. Get lazy bums to work. Kick the bum out in 2012, ABO.
