The MSU Riley Center, Dumont Plaza, and the Temple Theater will all play hosts to acts during the festival.

A music talk show, "The Right Place with Kevin Sport", which airs on SportsSouth, will also be in town during the Jimmie Rodgers Festival to speak with the artists and cover the history of he Father of Country Music.

Three major artists will be featured at the 2012 festival. All three will kick off the festival Wednesday, May 16, at the Temple Theater.

"We're going to be having 'The Heart Behind the Music', which is a singer/songwriter showcase on May 16. Mac McAnally, Teddy Gentry, and Lenny LeBlanc," said Betty Lou Jones. "Songwriters' names are not as familiar as performers, but let me just say that Mac McAnally is performing with Jimmy Buffett, Teddy Gentry is the bass player with Alabama, and Lenny LeBlanc is famous for his well-known Gospel songs that he has written."

The final Saturday will be an activity-packed day.

"On Saturday we have the talent show starting at 8:00. That's Saturday, May 19, 8:00. Then we have Jimmie's Jam in the afternoon," said Jones. "Wynonna at 7:30 and Cedric Burnside finishing us up at Dumont Plaza after the Wynonna concert."

"They can expect to see several shows for one," said Kevin Sport, host of The Right Place. "We'll do more than one part. We'll probably do three parts to this because we'll have lots of footage. And we're going to cover the museum, going to be at the theater filming live footage of the performances and getting great conversations with Teddy Gentry and Mac McAnally and Lenny LeBlanc and filling it in with Meridian and the Jimmie Rodgers history as we can."
