Meridian fire investigators say they are looking into what caused an early morning house fire on Sunday.
Firefighters say they were called to a home in the 5,000 block of 21st Street sometime between 1:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning. The fire caused extensive damage to the home. Investigators say thankfully no one was hurt during the fire.
Meridian firefighters were also called to a home on 13th avenue around 3:00 Sunday afternoon. Officials say the elderly homeowner left the house with something cooking on the stove, which led to the fire. No one was hurt and the home only suffered minor damage, but relatives living nearby say the fire had them a little on edge.
