The Neshoba County Fair was packing the people in on Saturday. Thousands of people showed up for all of the festivities like concerts, rides for the kids, the flea market, food, and state politicians visiting during the middle of next week. Newscenter 11 spoke with a family that has been coming to the fair since the 1960s.
"Work all week and I'm still here at the fair," county fair caretaker JD Ladd says. "I do the bushhogging and the parking lot, and around the cabins. Been doing that since '91. When I retired from working, I started doing that."
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife and Fisheries was also hand to promote conservation, as well as other department activities.
The Neshoba County Fair runs through Friday. Meridian Day is scheduled for Wednesday.
