A Neshoba County man has been sentenced to a total of 90 years in prison, with 15 suspended, in the deaths of his five children and a family friend.
The district attorney's office in Philadelphia confirmed 34-year-old Duane John was found guilty on six counts of DUI manslaughter. He was sentenced Wednesday in Lafayette County, where the case had been moved on a change of venue request.
The wreck happened on County Road 107 in southwestern Neshoba County in December 2012. The Dodge Durango John was driving left the road and went down an embankment into a creek that was high due to heavy rains.
Those who died were siblings 9-year-old Daisy-Anna John, Duane John, age 8, 7-year-old Bobby John, 4-year-old Quinton John and Kekambus John, 19 months.
Family friend, Dianne Chickaway, 38, also died.
