The city of Meridian has placed new signs promoting the Jimmie Rodgers Museum in Highland Park.
The reason is to better showcase one of the city's tourist attractions.
Decades after his death, the Father of Country Music still draws fans from as far away as Australia.
The Mississippi Economic Council brought a group of visitors through Friday.
"This is economic development at its best," said Mayor Cheri Barry. "And we want to continue promoting Meridian, working together in partnership with the Jimmie Rodgers Foundation and promoting the good things about Meridian, Miss., so that our state will see just what we have to offer."
"We have what has been called a creative economy. And Jimmie Rodgers is certainly a part of that creative economy," said Rebecca Combs-Dulaney, MEC member and CEO of the Phil Hardin Foundation.
The Mississippi Economic Council also toured other parts of the city and the Dentzel Carousel at Highland Park.
