Newt Gingrich Bringing Campaign to Meridian

Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich will bring his campaign to Meridian this week.

GOP officials confirmed the added stop to a previously announced schedule for the state.

Gingrich will be at an event Friday morning at 9:30 at the MSU Riley Center. It's open to the public.

Gingrich is one of four candidates remaining in the Republican field.
Rick Santorum will appear at an event Sunday at 12:30 at Weidmann's.

Mississippi's primaries are next Tuesday.

Hey, Felice, help me understand something here. Newt is promising $2.50 a gallon. Now, if a president could actually do something like that -- which, I hate to tell you, presidents can't (at least not American ones) -- don't you think Obama would be doing that -right now-? Especially in a election year? Oh, right, I forgot, Obama is forcing gas prices go up on purpose in an election year because he wants people to hate him... because he... doesn't... want... er... to be... reelected... uh, let's see... Hmm. Because socialism! Yeah, that's it.

And yet when gas prices were high in 2008, it was all Bush's fault according to you libs. A little consistency would be nice!!!!!

Newt Gingrich is the only candidate with the knowledge and the experience to beat Barack Obama and the only one who can change Washington. This is no time for on-the-job-training (i.e. Romney or Santorum). Both are also unelectable. Recall Romneycare and Santorum's condescending social attitude. A vote for anyone but Newt is a vote for Obama.

No, not the same Newt. I hope I'm a better more rounded, mature and better Christian than I was 10 years ago. He says he has found a new faith and has confessed his sins. Do you personally know that this is not so? I'd like to hear what the man has to say. He makes a lot of sense in the debates and I've checked out his website. He's smart and has ideas for this country. Newt's human inspiration is Pope John Paul II and George Washington. President Obama's inspiration is Rev. Wright and Saul Olinsky. What I do know is that President Obama is weakening this country like we have never been. We have been made vulnerable to our enemies and he had been dessimating our military with changes he has made in 4 short years. He trounces on our rights and the Constitution in general. When he can't get his way with Congress, he mandates. Yes, your memory is a little fuzzy. This is the way dictators take over. Whoever doesn't learn from history is doomed to repeat it. Our rights as individuals, our freedom is in danger. I will listen to anyone who raises his voice and stands up to stop this abomination.

My god, Terry, you're right! Why, just the other day I was walking down the street, minding my own business, when suddenly a bunch of hippie socialist thugs ran out of the shadows, grabbed me, turned me upside down, and shook me until all the money fell out of my pockets! Then they ran off with it! Obama's goons struck again! No doubt they're going to use it to fund their socialist fascist hippie authoritarian agenda. Well, I for one will not stand for the fact that the dictator Obama is taking all of our guns away, ship political dissidents like you and me off to labor camps, and forcing god-fearing Christians to renounce their religion. What a tyrant!

No need to take God's name in vain. I can tell by your post that you have a lot to learn. I can back up my points with facts. All you can do is answer with sarcasm and ridicule. So, in your opinion, Gregory, what has President Obama done for this country? How are we better off than we were 4 yrs. ago? It takes very little thought to ridicule someone who doesn't agree with you.

Terry, it would be a waste of my time to try and show things like facts or evidence to you, and here's why: a Salon article published on February 24th -- "The ugly delusions of the educated conservative" -- discussed several studies that show conservatives are less likely to let go of their delusions when presented with contradicting evidence. Yes, when presented with the facts, conservatives are actually MORE likely to defend their delusions rather than change their minds. So, let's see, I could waste my time writing something full of facts and links and citations -- something that you, because you know so, so, so much more than I do, would simply dismiss with a wave of your hand rather than weigh the evidence and come to a new conclusion -- or I could mock you and at least amuse myself in the process. Therefore, I choose to mock you. You are only worth ridicule.

When you mentioned Salon.com you spoke volumes. You are one of the left-wing socialist who is not concerned that 0weBummer has literally divided our country & left it in ruins... wanting 4 more to do what? More damage? You are a snide cynical person who spends most of your time condescending anyone who disagrees with you. Not with facts but with blather from left-wing socialist rhetoric. You have no free-thought, just what your masters tell you to think... lots of brain dead cells (probably fried from illegal drugs). No one needs to debate you for you have nothing to offer.

Nope Collinsville ur correct, it's the same Newt.
  • by Gregory Location: Collinsville on Mar 8, 2012 at 07:35 AM
I'm sorry, my memory's a little fuzzy -- is this the same reprehensible Newt Gingrich who was the first Speaker of the House ever disciplined for ethics violations in the history of the House of Representatives? Or am I thinking of a different Newt Gingrich? Surely not. Surely my fellow Americans, as intelligent, well-intentioned, and morally-pure as they think themselves to be, wouldn't be stupid or evil enough to support such an obviously corrupt scumbag. I must be thinking of a different Newt.
