One Man Killed, Another Injured in Separate Meridian Shootings

Meridian, Miss. One man is dead and another is in the hospital after two separate shootings in Meridian on Wednesday night.

The fatal shooting happened in Frank Berry Courts just before 8:00 when authorities say a 22-year old male was shot multiple times. Investigators searched the suspect's vehicle, which was left on the scene after the gunman fled on foot. The license tag is LBN-182 from Lauderdale County, Miss.

Around the same time, police say a man was shot in the leg at Walker Hills Apartments. He was immediately transported to the hospital. Neighbors were left in disbelief as investigators combed the scene for clues. Newscenter 11 spoke to the victim's girlfriend, who is very shaken up by what happened.

"It just, it hurt and I'm scared because I don't know what's going on, I don't know what's going to happen," Raynisha Brazill says. "I've done been hurt out here, now he done been hurt, now what. Next thing, they going to try and kill us."

Walker Hills residents report seeing a burgundy colored SUV with four black males inside.
