A local civic club is getting ready for its biggest fundraiser of the year, which has become a Meridian tradition.
The Downtown Optimist Club's pancake jubilee is set for Feb. 26 at the Temple Theater Ballroom.
The all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage meal is the primary fundraiser for the club every year, with the funds raised going to various organizations that help youth in the community.
"Any youth project that we deem worthwhile, we try to help them out," said club member Harold Magee. "And all our funds are designated, our charitable corporation is set up that way, so all our funds basically go to youth organizations of some type."
The Downtown Optimists support programs like the Boy Scouts and junior golf.
Tickets are on sale now for $5.00 each. You may get them from a club member or online. A link is provided below.
