The family of a local murder victim in Neshoba County is calling for justice.
22-year-old Samuel Boler is charged with murder in the July 17 shooting death of Danny Peden, 25. The incident happened at Philadelphia's West Side Park.
Boler was taken into custody three days after the shooting.
The family has expressed concern about Boler potentially being released on bond or getting special treatment because of family connections.
"The other day when we had the little hearing, the alleged killer, he sat there and laughed all day like it was funny. My son over here is dead. It's not funny," said Peden's mother, Trina Ratliff. "I'm not mad about nothing. You're in jail and he's dead."
Peden was shot in the chest while youth league baseball was being played not far away.
