Philadelphia, Miss. Around 8:50 Thursday night, Philadelphia police were called in for a shooting at Philadelphia Apartments on Pearl Street, a shooting which resulted in murder.

"Upon arrival, they were notified by people there on the scene that the victim had been transported to the hospital," Chief Investigator Fredesz Moore. "I then went to the hospital and was able to identify the subject as one black male by the name of Samuel Grady."

Police say they are still investigating why the man pulled out his gun. Grady was shot in the parking lot.

Neighbors at the apartment complex tell us off camera that they believe the incident started back this way. The two men got into an argument. There was a short chase involved, and then shortly back over this way is where the shots begin.

Despite being shot at multiple times, a single bullet to Grady's torso, resulted in his death.

"He was only hit once, officers were advised there had been several shots fired, and only one bullet struck him," Moore explained.

Witnesses told police that 22-year-old Kelvin McDonald was responsible. Police took McDonald into custody the next morning. He could soon be facing murder charges.

"Some people that were there on scene stated that he was the one shooting at the time. But like I said, I'm not sure," Moore said. "I need to further this investigation."
