Meridian Police say they responded to an armed robbery call on Friday night that turned out to be a false alarm.

Police tell Newscenter 11 they received a call about an armed robbery at the Willow Ridge apartments around 10:00 p.m. At the time, authorities were searching for a black male, wearing a maroon jacket and blue jeans. Newscenter 11 brought you this story as breaking news at 10:00 on Friday.

However, investigators say once officers arrived on the scene and began investigating, it was determined that there was not an armed robbery at Willow Ridge.
