Stalled construction of a new police station was addressed Tuesday night at the Meridian City Council meeting.

Construction has been halted at the construction site on 22nd Avenue as Watkins Development continues to wait on new market tax credits to be approved.

No time table has been given for completion of the project, but the city administration has proposed an urban renewal plan to help finance the project, along with other projects down the road.

Meridian is such a joke. How many years has the police department been looking for a new building? Why won't the media ask why? I guess as long as Meridian is in existence, the rest of the state won't be at the bottom of the nation.
