Nearly 100 people gathered at the Evangel Temple on Tuesday evening to practice for a special benefit concert scheduled for a week from this Friday.
Participants we talked to say they are determined to raise enough funds and awareness to keep the South Harbor Shelter open. They say it is something this community can't survive without given the economic struggles many continue to face. In fact, those singing in the concert are actually purchasing tickets themselves to ensure enough money is raised to meet their goal. Volunteers say it's crucial for everyone to support this important concert.
The concert will be held Friday, June 8th at the Evangel Temple. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Gospel artists Byron Cage and David and the Giants will be on hand.
