Mississippi voters are deciding who will be on the Nov. 8 general election ballot for governor.
Five Republicans and four Democrats are competing in Tuesday's primaries. Poll are open until 7 p.m. If runoffs are needed, they'll be Aug. 23.
Lt. Gov. Phil Bryant of Brandon has raised more money than any
candidate for governor. In the Republican primary, Bryant is facing construction executive Dave Dennis of Pass Christian, businessman Ron Williams of Moss Point, Pearl River County supervisor Hudson Holliday of Poplarville and former state employee James Broadwater of Byram.
Democratic primary candidates are Hattiesburg Mayor Johnny
DuPree, Clarksdale attorney and businessman Bill Luckett, teacher William Bond Compton, Jr., of Meridian and retired tax assessor Guy Dale Shaw of Coffeeville.
