A group of local radio stations is doing its part to help sick children in Mississippi by asking listeners to help.
The Radio People of Meridian is hosting its 12th Annual Mississippi Miracles Radiothon through Friday to benefit the Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital in Jackson.
The Radio People says the hospital helps thousands of sick kids in this area, and around the state, every year.
"This hospital serves all of Mississippi," said Scott Stevens of 97OKK. "Just in the listening area around here, Newton County, Neshoba County, Lauderdale County, over 6,000 kids last year relied on the Blair Batson Hospital."
"It hits home to me because both of my children use this hospital quite often, so it's important to update the equipment, update the rooms, update even the toys that get used there," said Lee Taylor of Q101. "It's important to the children."
Last year's Radiothon ranked 13th in the nation out of more than a hundred.
