Meridian, Mississippi Reconciliation Week events have concluded, but the impact of the week continues.
The Reconciliation Week committee chooses a local charity every year to donate to and it selected Care Lodge this year. Giving back to the community is part of the theme of Reconciliation Week. The committee made a donation of $325 to the organization. The money will go to help families in need in the area.
"Somebody said that if everybody cared enough, and everybody shared enough, there will be enough to go around, so we are adding our part to it and hoping we can get the job done," according to Jinnell Miller, who serves on the Reconciliation Week committee.
Care Lodge was founded in 1981 and serves nine counties in East Central Mississippi as well as the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.
