Flags will fly at half-staff in Meridian from dawn to dusk Tuesday, in honor of the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
"Let us also honor the first responders and the volunteers who came together in New York and around our nation and showed great courage and selflessness," said Mayor Cheri Barry.
Tuesday marks the 11th anniversary of terrorist attacks on New York and Washington and the hijacking of Flight 93 that crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
