Employees at Bonita Lakes Mall kicked off the holiday season with the arrival of the big, jolly man, Santa Claus.

Santa arrived at the mall Friday at six in the evening. He was welcomed with the 'Santa's Arrival Parade'.

Kids were welcomed to participate in the parade and follow Santa to his toy shop in the JCPenney court. Every child who took part in the fun, received a special surprise from Santa.

"We're at Bonita Lakes Mall for a season of good wishes and hearing all of the little boys and girls bringing their wish list to Santa and Santa's elves,"describes Santa Claus.

Your children can get their picture taken with Santa Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

On second thought A may have a point.Kids that grow up believing in lies[which I choose to call fantasies] may continue to believe in them as adults. How many of our so called leaders lies[fantasies] do we believe only to cry later when find out the truth. Back to the real subject. To me Santa,Easter Bunny,Tooth Fairy,Boogieman and such stated out as teaching tools.Do good and you get repaid, stay inside at night and the bad things don't get you, pulling your own tooth gets you money [ Getting money sometimes causes pain i.e. work]. As an old ____ this is what I grew up with.I know we can never go back to these days so maybe A has a point in that kids should not be showered with gift just because it is a holiday.

Peabody, be fair with yourself. Study the validity of where that stuff comes from. There are so many separations from fact in those stories that they are just like Santa Clause. Lying to kids is so childish, pardon the pun.

Anonymous: Lighten up. Have you ever heard of the joy of giving? The wise men gave gifts to a child that would change the world like no other. So why not give a child a gift that might show them how giving can change the world? Easter is another one you probably do not like but it shows the sweetness of being reborn

What a crock to make money. Teach kids that lies are acceptable in certain circumstances.

Just wondering if this is the same Santa that the mall was so rude to last year. Did he come back or do they have a new one? I really liked the one that was there for so many years.
