School Bus Death

The Newton County School District is offering condolences to the family of one of its students.

Superintendent J.O. Amis confirms that a six-year-old from Newton County Elementary died on a school bus Friday.

Amis says the child suffered from breathing problems and died from natural causes. This happened Friday afternoon on a bus for children with special needs.

Superintendent Amis says 911 was called and proper procedure was followed.
