Efforts are still underway to find a new tenant for the old Handy Hardware facility.
This comes as the company still owes the state of Mississippi more than $3 million. In the meantime, the East Mississippi Business Development Corporation tells Newscenter 11 it's main priority is to market the building, which President Wade Jones says is a 460,000 square feet, state of the art facility.
"We've had an inquiry or inquires on the building, so there are interested parties," Jones says. "I think more importantly, we are going to travel to Atlanta, Greenville, SC, and Dallas, where the site consultants have their offices."
Handy Hardware closed on December 31st, 2012, which resulted in more than 100 people being laid off.
