Meridian, Miss. Second graders from Northeast Lauderdale Elementary School have been taking field trips in small groups around the city this week.
Stops included the Temple Theatre, where the children watched a movie and learned about the history of the building. They also traveled to the fire station, Sake Sushi, and the Dentzel Carousel.
"They love it, especially getting to see the carousel and learning the interesting facts about it," said teacher April Bonner. "They had a great time learning about how much the carousel was worth and the information behind it."
The field trip gave the entire second grade a chance to learn the history of their hometown.
