Sheriff's "Rangers" Grab Awards

Some local Sheriff's Department "Rangers" gathered Monday night to celebrate completing an emergency response training program.

The Rangers took part in CERT training, which stands for Community Emergency Response Team, and it takes people out of the community and teaches them basic skills on how to respond to a mass casualty event like a natural disaster.

"It's all about teaching them how to respond to anything from basic firefighting to tornado hitting," Deputy Robby McClure says.

The CERT participants chose to give their award from competition to Sheriff Billy Sollie.
