Meridian police say one man was taken to a local hospital after being shot Tuesday night.
The MPD says It happened just before 6 p.m. on Cooper Circle, with the victim being injured with bird shot. Officials say he was taken to Anderson Hospital with minor injuries but he refused to cooperate with police.
Police say after he was treated, the victim was taken to jail on an old warrant, but did not reveal the charge on that warrant.
Following the shooting, Anderson was placed on lock-down for brief time. But police say it was due to a misunderstanding.
Officials said there was a call about an unrelated fight outside the hospital not long after the shooting. The fight was handled by officers and the hospital was taken off lock-down a short time later.
