A body found in a creek in Clay County, Miss., is that of a missing Meridian man.
Meridian police confirmed the body was found Wednesday. 28-year-old Alex Drico Sims had been missing since Sunday.
Sims leaves behind two children and his wife Lauren.
As the family gathers together for support, questions remain for investigators and for Sims' loved ones.
Sims was in the news back in 2005 after he was indicted, and then cleared, in a shooting at Rush Hospital. His wife addressed any connection between the two cases.
"It's not a form of retaliation as far as that's concerned. I think the disappearance and murder of my husband was a set up," says Lauren Sims. "It had nothing to do with the '05 Rush Hospital situation, and he was with someone that he trusted, that he called a friend."
"No one deserves to die like this, it's unnecessary and uncalled for and we just want justice."
The case is being investigated as a homicide.
