The Mississippi Economic Council announced Meridian's C.D. Smith has been elected treasurer of the Public Education Forum of Mississippi.
Smith is a Regional Director for AT&T Mississippi and is serving a 10-year term on the Mississippi Public Universities Board of Trustees. He chairs the board of directors for The Montgomery Institute and is a member of the board of directors for the State Games of Mississippi, the East Mississippi Business Development Corporation, and the Meridian Community College Foundation.
Smith also serves on the board of governors for the Mississippi Economic Council. He previously served on the national board of directors of the MSU Alumni Association.

Martha Cooke, Vice President of Special Projects at School Book Supply Company, has been elected as chair of the Public Education Forum of Mississippi for 2014-2015. Rebecca Wiggs, a member at Watkins & Eager law firm, will resume her role as chair of MEC’s M.B. Swayze Foundation for 2014.
