Officials say some changes are in store for a historic cemetery in Meridian.
Lauderdale County District 2 Supervisor Wayman Newell says a historical marker has arrived for the 10th Avenue cemetery. Newell tells us officials have been waiting on the marker for about a year now. He says he hopes to have the marker up soon and will hold a ceremony when that happens.
"I've got to get the right people in place," Newell says. "Certainly am looking forward to that. I have worked hard and the people that have helped me, I certainly want to thank them again."
