Storms Spark Two House Fires

Newton Mayor David Carr says two homes in the area were damaged or destroyed by fire on Saturday morning.

Carr says the homes are located on Walnut and New Ireland Streets. Residents in both homes were able to escape without being injured.

Mayor Carr tells Newscenter 11 that while a full investigation is being conducted, it appears that lightning is to blame for starting the two fires.
