The Families First Grant allows non-profit organizations to come into schools and teach children about cyber-bullying and Internet safety.
Northwest Middle School in Meridian held classes to help kids understand the consequences and ramifications of cyber-bullying.
"There are so many new types of technology coming out, so more kids are becoming aware of them," said Jacob Devaughn of the Mississippi Community Education Center. "So there's more stuff out there, predators and things of that sort. People trying to steal information, things like that."
The Mississippi Community Education Center is an organization designed to provide communities with education and training services on a statewide basis.
